Mints

I tried my hand at making pink cream cheese cupcake shaped mints for Miss Lily's birthday party. They were quite easy and I was very surprised at how well they turned out. Using the cookie cutter to make them cupcake shaped was the hardest part. Due to them still being soft when I shaped them, it was hard to get them out of the cookie cutter in the same shape. Once they dried and I took inventory we ended up with around 100 mints for the party! I was very proud and guests seemed to enjoy them. Here are some pictures of the process and finished product.

Cupcake pops!

Here are some pictures of the finished cupcake pops that we made. I think they turned out great! Our first batch didn't turn out like we had planned or wanted, so we changed it up a bit and made them a different way. The second batch went much faster and turned out much better! Enjoy!

End of school bash

So my sister and I were talking and she is thinking of having an end of school/start to summer bash at her house for her kiddos and their friends in June. My mind got to spinning and searching and trying to find some cute ideas! I have been researching and considering an ice cream party, swimming/water party, milk and cookies type theme, cupcakes or something to do with cupcakes, surfing/beach party, a rainbow type thing based on ice pops/popsicles, etc. My mind is all over the place.

I've thought for an ice cream party we could do a make your own sundae buffet:

Another idea for the ice cream party would be doing the cupcakes baked in the ice cream cones with frosting to look like ice cream but not quite as messy:

For a swimming/water party, we could use the slip n slide, inflatable pool and water zoo thing that they've got at their house for a lot of water fun:

For milk and cookies it could be similar to the ice cream buffet and the kids could decorate their own cookies or make up their own cookie mix. There could be different kinds of cookies in summer themes and all sorts of cookie-related things!

With the cupcakes again we could have a buffet table of toppings for them to decorate their own cupcakes and things like that:

The rainbow party based on ice pops would be fun too because you could incorporate so many different colors and things to go along with the colors of ice pops. There could many different treats, activities, etc. in those colors:

The surfing/beach party could incorporate more games and activities with the swimming and water party. There could also be a mix with an ice cream and swimming party to have water activities and ice cream for a treat. I am having a lot of fun with this one brainstorming ideas and I can't wait to find many more ideas. This is just the start of them.

Pink lemonade party

Ever since I saw the idea for a pink lemonade party I have been in love. There are so many ways to go about this party and I think it would be so much fun to put any twist on it for a birthday party, baby shower or any type of party. From the cute invitations to different ways you can just take pink lemonade and run with it. I think it's so fun to have drinks in mason jars at a birthday party, so it's fun to have pink lemonade in the jars with a lemon slide on the rim. There's also a yummy cupcake recipe I've seen for pink lemonade cupcakes- perfect for this type of party. These are some of the ideas I've found that I love and anything that really goes with the pink and yellow is just too much fun!

Lily's 1st Birthday Party

My niece Lily will be turning one on May 4. It's hard to believe that it's already been a year! Her birthday is the first birthday I've really put all of these ideas and things to use. I have loved searching ideas and reading other's idea blogs to find the perfect ideas to fit the themes of different parties. It is so much fun to see an idea you love and to take off and run in your own direction with it. I love seeing things come together and I am very much a perfectionist, so I love when it turns out how I have pictured it. Lily's birthday theme is cupcakes and the main color scheme is pink and brown. There are a few other colors mixed in, but for the most part the pinks are what I have focused on with a touch of brown. I have been taking pictures along the way and will have to add them as my first completed party after this weekend. Her birthday party is coming up this Saturday April 30 and I cannot wait to see everything come together! I have really enjoyed helping my sister plan for this special occasion and I cannot wait to help my other sister plan for the summer & fall birthdays for my nephew and niece! Most of the main things that I have been working on and will soon post pictures of include some cupcake liner garland, cupcake pops, centerpieces, and 3 different banners using my new favorite toy, the cricut! I have been working closely with my sister Sarah to make this a wonderful party. All of the little details are going to make this one great 1st birthday party! It's going to be at a picnic shelter too which is going to make it even more fun.

Cupcake liner garland

I saw this cute idea for party decorations and I wanted to put my own spin on it for Lily's birthday party. I am hoping that it will also get used in September for Miss Sophie's 2nd birthday party too! I am going to post a few pictures that I have found to be inspiration and will post a picture of the finished project hanging at the party!

After finding these cute pictures online I had an idea in my head of what I wanted it to look like. I was on the search for the perfect cupcake liners to coordinate with her colors and theme. Once I got the hang of putting the garland together it was quite easy and I love how it turned out. I am sure it will look great at the party and I can't wait to put up the pictures.
